Professional Development Track

GROUPS ARE SCHEDULED ON REQUEST
There are seven performance groups, providing opportunities for practical experience with performance or exhibition, in which students participate while attending the Culturarte School of the Arts:

  • Metateatro de New York Company: A professional theater group engaged in a range of full and small scale productions of relevant plays and musicals, authored by Latin American artists or by Culturarte students themselves.

  •    Danza Moderna Culturarte (DMC): A dance troupe specializing in modern dance, particularly styles of movement and famous works of Latin America as well as Latino choreographers in the US.

  •   Painting and Photography Club: This club provides hands-on training and practice in painting and photography techniques.

  •    Tepsicore (Children's Classical Ballet): A traditional ballet company for children, specializing in the Classic works.

  •   Danza Folclorica Culturarte: A dance company focusing on the traditional dances of Latin America.

  •   Musicarte: A band utilizing traditional Latin instruments and highlighting diverse famous works of the culture.

  • Baton Ballet de Washington Heights: A baton twirling and cheerleading movement group.



    Cultural Marathon: Practicum on the Arts-Artistic Team Project (ATP)

          A three day performance, with the faculty of the school of the arts and advanced students of CULTURARTE, including special guests, national and international artists and performers. This is done three times a year (April, August and December), for a total of three annually. Art exhibits, book presentations, conferences poetry, music and dance, open classes and lectures from our faculty comprise the three days.
